Orsaline or food saline is water mixed with salt and glucose taken orally to fill the body's dehydration and salt deficiency. As a result, sodium and potassium deficiency are very dangerous for the human body. Dehydration or rehydration is the most important and necessary treatment in these cases. Saline that should be taken orally in this disease is Orsaline or food saline. Orsaline was recognized by the World Health Organization in 1980.
History and inventors
The name of the inventor of Ursaline Dr. Rafiqul Islam. Rafiqul Islam was born in 1936 in Chouddagram, Comilla. During his educational career, he passed MBBS from Dhaka Medical College. Later joined the then ICDDR in 1960. He discovered several drugs during his stay at ICDDRB. Orsaline is one of them. During the Liberation War in 1971, a large number of Bangladeshi refugees in West Bengal, India were affected by cholera and diarrhea. Dr. Orsaline was used to save those patients at that time. Rafiqul Islam. And it gives quite good results. After independence, the Bangladesh government recognized Orsaline as his invention. Then in 1980 the World Health Organization Dr. Rafiqul recognizes the Orsaline of Islam. Later, the indigenous NGO BRAC spread this orsaline to the remote areas of Bangladesh.
How to make Orsaline
At the beginning, both hands, saline container and spoon must be thoroughly cleaned.
First, take 2 cups or half a liter of pure water in the container.
Pour the entire mixture from the packet into it.
Then mix the mixture and water well with the help of a clean spoon.
Continue to feed as needed until the diarrhea improves.

Never mix saline with anything other than water, such as milk, soup or fruit juice or soft drinks. Even sugar cannot be added.
In the case of babies, it is best to feed them in a saline cup, as it is often a hassle to clean the feeding bottle completely. Saline cannot be made in hot water. Saline water also cannot be heated.
Saline is good for up to 12 hours after preparation. That is, after 12 hours of preparation, saline cannot be consumed, it must be thrown away.
